I’m just heading back to the shop this morning but I thought I would share something.
IT’S SNOWING!!!!!!!!!!!!
It’s June 10th and we’ve been getting pounded with rain, much needed I might add. But now it is snowing and they’ve issued a winter storm warning. Our high is supposed to be in the 40’s. Our average this time of year is 72 and we haven’t seen that for weeks.
I am working on knives for the private show I’m putting on here with Hancock, Fuegen, Dean, and Dunkerley. I am just finishing up a really neat 5 inch hunter/bowie with mammoth ivory that is all take down construction. Steve Dunn is going to engrave it. I will share pictures of it later.
Thanks for checking in.

For the first time in months I have two new knives available for purchase on my website. Below you can view these two knives but please excuse my photography. Here are the pictures and descriptions.
This is a folder with a 2 7/8″ blade and 6 1/2″ overall length. The handle is fossil mammoth ivory and the blade is a unique mosaic Damascus pattern. The blade is heat colored gold and the pattern really jumps off the blade and bolsters. The back bar is lightly file worked. This knife is $1600 and if you would like me to file work the liners the knife would be $1700.

This is a double bolster black lip pearl liner lock folder with a very tightly twisted Damascus blade. It has a diamond thumb stud and the liners and back bar are fully file worked. The blade is 2 7/8″ long and the knife is 6 1/4″ overall. The Damascus is heat colored blue. Again I apologize for the low quality picture. This knife is $1800.

On May 2nd Jodi gave birth to Hank Mark Smith. Hank weighed 9lbs. 9oz. and was 22 inches long. In the past month Hank has been eating and sleeping and eating some more. He has been a great baby.
Last weekend I attended the Atlanta Blade Show. The Blade show is always a great one to attend. There are so many great people to meet and so many more great knives to look at.
I am very busy now preparing for the ABS hammer in we put on. I am also in the process of making some neat knives for the private show I am hosting the night before the hammer in.
We have collectors and makers coming from around the country. Some are bringing campers and some are pitching tents in our yard while the rest are staying in Missoula. I am so excited to have these fine people here at my shop.
Spring has been a cool damp one here in Montana which has made the grass tall and green. It will be beautiful during the hammer in.
Thanks for taking time to read this. I look forward to your comments and hearing from many of you.
Take care,
Josh

I would like to thank you for coming to this part of my site and keeping up with me. I am sorry that I have not updated it recently. I will be posting some pictures of a couple orders I just completed. They turned out really nice.
I am now preparing for the Atlanta Blade Show at the end of this month. I am also beginning my preparation for the private show I am hosting the end of June.
Most of all though we are preparing for the birth of our new baby. My wife is scheduled to be induced on Friday if it does not come before. We don’t know what it is and could use some help on choosing a boy name.
I will be in touch with some new updates with some pictures. Thanks for stopping by.
