Here you see a sword that I built off of an exact tracing of a sword in the “Wallace Collection” in London. The original came from the Persian region in the 1700’s and had likely been re-handled at some point in Europe. Though this is not an exact duplication of the sword for overall profile is exact. This blade is 300 layers of ladder pattern carbon steel damascus. These sword blades were specifically designed to be used in battle while riding horse back. The thick spine provides strength for an extremely thin and wickedly sharp edge. The drastic curved allowed the rider to be able to continue to hold onto the sword while striking something at high speed. The hilt is damascus with sterling silver languets in the center. 18 karat gold pins hold the fossil walrus ivory handle on. This was quite a fun project to tackle and created some interesting challenges. Blade Length: 28.5” Overall: 33”
